MARTYN NAYLOR - EXECUTIVE PRODUCER Martyn Naylor having gained a B.Sc. (Econ.) at the London School of Economics & Political Science and an MBA at the University of New Mexico embarked on an extraordinary career, initially in advertising and subsequently in Theatre worldwide. In advertising he worked at the London Press Exchange, UK (1961-65) and also in Japan from 1965 to 1969 and at Leo Burnett, Inc., Japan from 1969 to 1976. In 1976 he became a founding partner of Naylor, Hara International K.K., Japan. Naylor Hara was instrumental in introducing products like natural cheese, bell peppers and wines to Japanese consumers. Concurrently, from 1979, he created and ran a highly successful play agency. Martyn was equally innovative in this field of endeavour, establishing a wide network of creative relationships with producers, directors, actors and translators in the Far East and Europe, the UK and USA. In 2017 Naylor Hara morphed into Theatre Rights Ltd., Japan, which currently licenses 90% of Foreign Plays in Translation in Japan, China and S.Korea. He was an Executive Producer on the feature film JAIL CAESAR. Martyn was honoured with an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for Services to promote British interests in Japan, awarded in the Birthday Honours in 1973.
